Patriotism is a civic feeling, the content of which is love for the motherland and readiness to sacrifice one’s interests for its sake, devotion to one’s people, pride in the heritage of national culture, special emotional experience of belonging to one’s country, language, history, traditions, readiness to act in the interests of the fatherland and stand up for its defense if necessary, writes Anton Sklyarenko in his article «Patriots’ scam«, published in the publication Міжнародний Курʼєр. Further Sklyarenko notes that at the same time, there is an opposite concept of pseudo-patriotism, which is defined as unjustified smoothing of negative socially important factors, for example, poor standard of living, exaggerated enthusiasm for domestic achievements in all spheres.
In the article, the author points to individual «patriots of the Kremlin’s information front» who actually «zombify» Russians, daily reinforcing in them the confidence in the unsurpassedness of both the nation and «its tsar», devotion to the interests of the state, readiness for self-sacrifice.

Ekaterina Andreeva, a well-known Putinist and patriot of Russia, in her reports repeatedly condemned the West’s loss of moral and other generally accepted values, welcomed the aggression against Ukraine, urged Russians to rally around Putin and «As it is customary in Russia, by the whole world!!! By all the people!!!» to destroy the neighboring state.

Andreeva, as it turns out since 2011, is an honorary citizen of Montenegro, a NATO country and future EU member.
The husband of the Kremlin propagandist, Montenegrin citizen Dusan Petrovic, is a confidant of Republika Srpska BIG leader M. Dodik for relations with Putin. Andreeva still visits Montenegro to this day.
In addition, her daughter and son-in-law live in another NATO and EU country, the Republic of Latvia, where they also have real estate and business.
Anton Sklyarenko asks a rhetorical question: «why such «patriots of Mother Russia» buy real estate and live not in the picturesque Altai or warm Sochi, but outside the «great and mighty» — preferably in the «decaying» West.
The answer is obvious: despite the patriotic rhetoric and statements in support of Putin and the war in Ukraine, the Kremlin’s servants understand perfectly well that Russia is not fit for normal life. They also realize that only in the West can they find conditions for a safe and secure life for themselves.

That is why all this Russian patriotic crap is trying hard to get housing and citizenship of the hated West and send their children there to live and study. At the same time they loudly shout about necessity of nuclear strikes on the European capitals where their children live. There is no limit to the cynicism of Russian patriots.

Many of them are under sanctions by the EU, the US and other countries. Some are on the Magnitsky list, some have criminal cases against them in various countries. All these individuals are the backbone of Putin’s criminal regime. They tirelessly call on Russians to be patriotic and die in the fertile fields of Ukraine for the greatness of Russia, and in fact for the prolongation of the power of a group of KGB officers led by the murderer Putin.
The authorities of Cyprus and the EU, despite the obvious threat to the security of the European Union, still do not take any measures to ensure that the island ceases to be a haven for Russian officials and businessmen associated with the Kremlin. The Russian intelligence services’ agents of influence continue to freely carry out their massive propaganda campaigns, and the presence of Russians on the streets of Cypriot towns and on the island’s beaches has increased markedly compared to the first years of the all-out war. This situation is seriously alarming.
